So, uh… I have some news
Hellooo readers of the blogosphere!
Okay, remember when I said I was waiting (not-so-patiently) to hear back from the Twitter pitch events? And how I was trying to hold it all with an “open hand” while quietly refreshing my inbox every 3.4 seconds?
WELL. SOMETHING HAPPENED.
Something big. Something exciting. Something that still doesn’t feel real even though I’ve read the email approximately 1,342 times and may or may not have screamed into a pillow afterward.
I. SIGNED. WITH. A. PUBLISHER.
(Yes, you read that right. No, this is not a drill. Yes, I am still screaming.)
This whole thing started with a dream—literally. This story came to me in a dream, and I wrote it thinking, hey, maybe five people will read this and one of them will be my mom. But now… there’s going to be an actual book deal. With real people. Who want to help bring my weird little dream world into readers' hands.
I'm officially on a publishing path, and I honestly still can't believe I get to say that.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I didn’t waltz into this gig with sparkly graphics and fan art and an army of retweets. My first pitch was… let’s call it “minimalist.” LOL But then came the second event: clean, simple, no popularity contest. Just words. And guess what? Those words found a home.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
You don’t need a perfect pitch. You don’t need a thousand followers. You just need to try. And yes, it's terrifying. And yes, the waiting will make you question every life choice. But it’s worth it.
So now I’m stepping into this next chapter—literally—with a heart full of nerves and excitement and oh-god-what-am-I-doing energy.
There’s so much more to come (edits! cover reveals! release dates?!), and I’ll be bringing you along for all of it. But for now, just know this:
Dreams can be messy. And unpredictable.
But sometimes? They come true.
